Wingman is a brand new documentary that follows Peter Thompson as he becomes the first person to paraglide across the state of Colorado. Thompson breaks up the flight into about 10 days, and during the flight he lands on numerous 13,000ft and 14,000ft peaks. Meteorology is critical to success. Thompson has to find the most stable weather to complete the journey while avoiding daily thunderstorms.
Filmmaker Dylan Brown says, “When Pete first came to me to document this incredible feat, it was a no brainer. To be the first person — and quite possibly the only person in the US that even has the skillset — to cross Colorado using just the power of the wind seemed like the ultimate adventure — and also nearing the impossible. I knew Pete had the skillset, but he also needed the drive. My biggest fear was this drive would also be his undoing. He literally would be flying over vast wilderness, immense expanses of trees, deep ravines, under perilous cloud forces and all while maintaining an altitude above 13-thousand feet.”
WeatherNation TV's own meteorologist Chris Tomer contributed to the project.
