Fire alerts have been discontinued in the Northeast, but there still remains special weather statements for this area, with winds coming out of the North at 5 -15 mph. Breezy conditions with low humidity values across the region will still keep the fire weather concerns heighten.

Fires continue to burn across portions of the area, including the Jennings Creek Fire. Here, over 2,000 acres have burned.Even after some rainfall in the last few days, vegetation remains very dry, with drought conditions continuing to worsen.

Models are depicting more moisture returning to the area, with relief from elevated fire conditions on the way. This looks to be focused into the end of the week. However, it looks like Interstate 95 will be missing out on much of the meaningful rain as it stays west.

We'll continue to update this developing situation on Weather Nation, including your East Regional Forecast at :10 past the hour.
